STYLE SETTERS

by Paulette Weaver Purgason

Gary Haynes and Cynthia Wisenburg were the early bloomers. They were dancing at major school events and the envy of all the kids.

Why Cindy even showed up in her Dad's Austin Healy convertible..white, of course. Square hood, long and low to the ground.

Paulette showed up in a 1947 black Plymouth that smelled like a string of day old catfish from the murky bottom of High Rock Lake.

Years later, Cindy, Gary, and Beverly Herndon, would dance to Bali Hi at our Senior Prom.
